Georgia Exports Company (GEC) is the premier provider of containerized export woodchips that originate in the Southeast United States. GEC provides softwood and hardwood woodchips to its customers around the globe. We work with only the finest procurement teams and loggers in the region to provide the highest quality of woodchips.
GEC has the option of sourcing its export woodchips in many different capacities but always maintains control over the procurement and quality that is being shipped. The primary source of our woodchips comes from “In-Woods, or “Forest”” harvesting and chipping. This means that the woodchips are loaded directly into ocean going containers in the woods where the chips are being processed. The containers are then transported to a local seaport where they are loaded for their final destination. The secondary source comes from GEC procuring woodchips from local “Chip Mills”, or “Saw Mills”.
Woodchips are used in many applications around the world such as MDF (medium density fiberboard) and OSB (oriented strain board) production. They are also used in the Pulp and Paper and Biomass Industries.
