Georgia Exports Company (GEC), along with its partners, B&S Feed and Farm Supply and Vulcan Materials, receive, store and load out various sizes of aggregates. The GEC team receives blocks of railcars daily from the Vulcan Materials Rock Query located just outside of Macon Georgia. These trains are delivered by the Norfolk Southern Railroad which has direct access to our Springfield Georgia aggregate yard. The aggregates are received in bottom dump railcars and discharged through GEC’s receiving facility. This system utilizes a single pocket rail dump, rail-car shaker, and mobile stacking conveyor. The mobile stacking conveyor system allows GEC to handle multiple grades of aggregates and to sort them into specific piles for distribution. The primary sizes handled are #89, #57, #4, #7, #67, GABC, and Type 3 Rip-Rap.
